TALC WEBSITE AND TILIS PORTAL PRIVACY POLICY
(a) INTRODUCTION: TALC acknowledges and respects the privacy of individuals and is bound by the Australian National Privacy Principles ('the NPPs') under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ('Privacy Act') in the way it handles personal information. This policy sets out the way in which it will use, manage and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Unless stated by you to the contrary, you acknowledge and consent to the use or disclosure of your personal information including your name, address, email address and other information you provide, in circumstances that are:
• Set out in the Privacy Policy;
• Clearly explained to you at the time when the information is collected from you; or
• Permitted under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
(b) COLLECTION OF INFORMATION : TALC may collect personal information from you including your name, address, telephone number and email address, when you knowingly provide information when you visit TILIS, register your needs, purchase a module, purchase and use a discovery tool or use another TILIS service. If you choose not to provide the personal information requested, TALC may not be able to provide you with the products/services that you require.
(c) USE OF YOUR INFORMATION: Personal information that you submit to TALC may be used for reasonable business purposes, in that TALC may store (database) and process that information to better understand your needs and how TALC can improve its services. The type of personal information that TALC collects about you depends on the transactions you undertake with the organisation. Your personal information may be used in order to: (a) provide you with the products and services you have requested; (b) Customise and personalise your experiences on the TALC website; (c) administer and manage service offerings, including charging, billing and collecting debts; (d) research and develop TALC’s service offerings; (e) communicate with you; and (f) provide you with access to and information about a range of current and future service offerings
For any of the above purposes TALC may contact you by electronic or other means.
(d) DISCLOSURE TO THIRD PARTIES: For the purposes set out above, TALC may disclose your personal information to third party organisations. The organisations to which TALC discloses information may include: (a) external service providers to whom TALC has contracted out functions, such as printers, mailing houses, advertising agencies, but only for the purpose of providing the service TALC has contracted out; (b) TALC Solutions partners; (c) Government and regulatory authorities and other organisations, as required or authorised by law; (d) TALC's professional advisers; (e) TALC-related companies; and (f) other professional bodies. You may at any time opt out of certain service offerings.
(e) ACCESS, ACCURACY AND SECURITY: TALC will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information collected is accurate, complete and up-to-date. You can access and request correction of any personal information concerning you at any time. You may also request that TALC delete your personal information at any time. Any such requests should be made directly by contacting TALC at the details set out below. TALC will take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
(f) SENSITIVE INFORMATION: TALC will not collect use or disclose sensitive information (such as information about racial or ethnic origins or political or religious beliefs) except with your specific consent or in the circumstances permitted in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
(g) CLICKSTREAM DATA: Each time you visit the Website TALC’s server collects some anonymous information, known as click-stream data, including the type of browser and system you are using; the address of the website you have come from and move to after your visit; the date and time of your visit; and your server's IP address.
TALC may collect this information for statistical purposes to find out how the website is used and navigated, including the number of hits, the frequency and duration of visits, most popular session times. TALC may use this information to evaluate and improve the website’s performance.
(h) COOKIES: A Cookie is a piece of information that our web server may send to your machine when you visit Website. The Cookie is stored on your machine, but does not identify you or give us any information about your computer.

However, the accuracy of that information depends to a large extent on the information you provide. You are able to access, amend and manage your contact details and profile at any time by visiting the Update Your Profile section of the TILIS website. We recommend that you: (a) maintain your contact details and profile on our site; and (b) let us know if there are any errors in your personal information which you cannot change. TALC will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is protected from misuse, loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
(k) CONFIDENTIALITY: Upon request TALC will provide you with access to your personal information, subject to exceptions stated in the Privacy Act. TALC reserves the right to charge a fee for searching and providing access to information. If you would like access, please make your request in writing for security reasons.
